A Tumor, a Tight Schedule, and a Little Joy in the Kitchen

Cooking, Courage, and the Spirit of a 10-Year-Old Hero

Some stories remind us that strength can show up in the smallest moments—in a mother holding it all together, in a 10-year-old finding joy in cooking, or in a box of ingredients delivered right to your door when you need it most.

Terri is one of those mothers. She and her husband are doing everything they can to care for their beautiful twin daughters, including Haley—who is currently battling a tumor on her brain. Since we began working with them, Haley has already undergone several treatments.

Every day brings appointments, hospital visits, and emotional weight most of us can’t imagine. But Terri shows up. She’s missed work. She’s stretched every dollar. And still, she keeps going.

“She really is such a brave kid. My hero for sure. Even through all of her struggles she never complains.”

Terri said this about Haley, but the truth is—it describes them both.

We were honored to support Terri and her family through our meal delivery service, providing weekly Hello Fresh boxes to their home. The meals came pre-portioned and ready to cook, which was a huge time-saver. But what touched us most was what happened next.

Haley—this brave, resilient 10-year-old—loves to cook.

What began as a meal delivery became a fun, joyful family experience. It created moments in the kitchen where things felt normal, playful, connected. And for a family navigating a medical crisis, those moments are everything.

“Thank you very much,” Terri told us.“We are really enjoying our meals. It is a really big help having 3 meals that I don’t have to worry about. It means so much.”

To everyone who buys Mom Bomb products, donates to MomBomb.org, or helps spread the word—you’re part of this. You helped ease the load so a mother could be present, so a daughter could smile, and so dinner didn’t have to be another stressor.

This is what we do. This is what you make possible.

From all of us at Mom Bomb Giving, thank you.
