Hot Meals, Big Hearts, and the Real Reason We Do This

We Set Out to Deliver Meals. We Ended Up Delivering Hope.

It’s been just two weeks since Mom Bomb products hit store shelves, and already—thanks to early supporters—we were able to contribute a meaningful amount to our nonprofit, MomBomb.org, which helps mothers in crisis.

And then came Jane.

Jane (name changed for privacy) is a full-time hospital employee and mother of three, navigating a difficult divorce and the weight of everyday life. She was nominated to receive help, and we couldn’t wait to connect with her.

Here’s how the conversation went:

Me: “Jane, I understand you’re having a tough time, and I’m so sorry. Which of our four services would be most helpful right now—Laundry Pickup, Child Care, Housekeeping, or Meal Delivery?”Jane: “Oh, the food delivery would be a godsend.”Me: “Wonderful. I’ll send you some options and take care of it. The prepared meals are great—you just pop them in the oven and you’re good to go.”Jane: [Silence]Jane: “Well... I hate to be a cog in the wheel, but we just have a toaster oven and microwave. Our oven broke. I’m so sorry—I don’t know how we can do this.”Me: “Would you rather receive an oven?”

That’s when everything changed.

The oven was ordered immediately—and just like that, we pivoted, because that’s what helping moms in crisis really looks like.

And here’s what Jane wrote back after it arrived:

“We can't say thank you enough. Without Mom Bomb, we would still have a dead oven and be struggling to make meals. My cousin helped me install it on April 8th. He did the electrical, and I modified the cabinet. That first night we made fresh buns for burgers—and brownies. They don’t last long in our house!”
“Now we can cook anything. This year, I’ll be able to make a whole turkey or spiral ham. Our old oven couldn’t even fit a cookie sheet. This one fits two. My kids love to help cook—this new addition makes it even more fun for us.”

That’s what giving looks like.

This wasn’t how we imagined rolling out our first service—but it was exactly what needed to happen. Jane and her children now have not just food, but the dignity, joy, and connection that comes with preparing meals together again.

To every single person who bought a Mom Bomb product or supported our mission—this is your impact.

This is why we get up in the morning. And this is only the beginning.

From the bottom of our hearts—and Jane’s, too—thank you.
